Mt. Everest (8848 m), the tallest mountain in the world located in the remote eastern region of Nepal. Trekking is this region erases the quest of knowing Everest intensely. The trek to Mt. Everest is famed not only for the absolute height of Everest, Everest region, called Khumbu in Nepali, is the dwelling for many of the world’s supreme and many notable mountains. Trekking in Everest vicinity offers you to explore miscellaneous flora and fauna, unspoiled lakes, rich Buddhist culture and rituals of the Sherpas, and secluded monasteries in the lap of mighty Himalayas.
The Sherpas are celebrated mountaineers living in soaring villages of Everest region. Some of the notable Himalayan peaks in the region are Everest (8848m), Amadablam (6856m), Lhotse(8516m), Nuptse(7879m), Pumori (7145 m), Cho Oyu (8153m), Makalu (8475 m) and number of smaller peaks like Island peak, Mera peak, Lobuje peak etc .The region tenders a varieties of treks as of short treks to demanding treks relating high Himalayan passes. Everest base camp trek is selected in top ten on many travel surveys in the world. This trek starts from Jiri and ends in Lukla.

TREKKING ITINERARY – JIRI EVEREST TREKKING
Day 01. Arrival and transfer to hotel
Day 02. Preparation for trekking
Day 03. Drive Kathmandu to Jiri (1955 m) by local express bus It takes about 8 hours to Drive by bus via Araniko highway to Lamosangu. Whilst passing the old towns of Banepa and Dhulikhel you will have an excellent panoramic view of the eastern Himalayas, including Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung and Dorjee Lakpa. The road descends to Panchkhal, then climbs over a ridge behind Dolalghat and follows the Sunkoshi north to Lamasangu. After passing several villages we will reach Jiri and overnight at lodge in Jiri
Day 04. Trek to Deorali (2710 m) We will ascent for the first two hours to Mali Danda (2440m.) and then gently descend to Shivalaya (1800m.) where we could take lunch and hang around. After having lunch, the trail steeply goes up for an hour and rest of the day is gently up to the Deorali. We will enjoy the green scenery as well as some of the snow-capped mountains at a far distance. Overnight at lodge in Deorali
Day 05. Trek to Sete (2580 m) We descend for early an hour to Bhandar (2250m.) and then gently descend to Kenja (1600m.) where we will have our lunch. After having lunch, our trek is steeply up to destination. En route, we will enjoy with agricultural farm scenery where locals work hard. In addition to this, pass through Sherpa villages with beautiful mountain views. Overnight at lodge in Sete
Day 06. Trek to Junbesi (2670 m) To begin your trek, we should climb steeply for an early two hours passing through Dagchu, Goyem, a small Sherpa settlements. Then our trek starts gently up to the Lamjura Pass (3500m.) through rhododendron forest. After the pass, rest of the trek is gently descent to the destination. In this route, we will enjoy some of the snow capped mountains such as the “Goa of the Solu”. Besides this, we will see some wildlife such as monkey and many species of birds. Overnight at lodge in Junbesi.
Day 07. Trek to Nuntala (2330 m) We gently ascend for early one and half hours to Phurtung (2900m.). From this place, we will see first view of Mount Everest including Thamserku (6623m.), Kantega (6780m.), Kusum Kangaru (6370m.) and Mera Peak (6650m.). Our trek gently descends to Ringmo Khola (2500m.). After Ringmo Khola we walk for one and half hours to the reach Takshindo La Pass (3100m.). From this point, we will see excellent mountain views. The end of trek is steeply descent to the town Nunthala (2200m.) through small Sherpa settlement and forest. Overnight at lodge in Nuntala
Day 08. Trek to Bupsa (2400 m) The beginning of your trek gently descends to the Dudh Koshi river (Milk River) for an early two hours passing through agricultural farming land and small Sherpa and Rai settlements. From Dudh Koshi river, we gently ascent all the way to Kharikhola (2050m.) passing through Juving (1680m.) a pretty big Rai village and farming lands. From Kharikhola our trail follows flat path for 45 minutes and then steeply up to the camp (Bupasa) where we visit Buddhist Monastery in ruined state.Overnight at lodge in Bupsa.
Day 09. Trek to Surke (2290 m) At the beginning of the day, we will ascend steeply for the early two hours to Khari La Pass (2880m.). While trekking we pass through rhododendron and oak forest including a small Sherpa settlements and teashops. From this point, we will see excellent view of different mountains such as Numbu (6960m.), Cho-oyu (8201m.), Gyangchung Kang (7922m.) and Thamserku (6629m.). Now, we gently descent to Chaubar (2730m.) passing through Bamboo forest and Puiyan (2770m.) with view of Khumbu Valley as well as beautiful mountains. At the end of the day, we descends up to the destination. Surkey is a small Sherpa village at the bottom of the Lukla. Overnight at lodge in Surke
Day 10. Trek to Monju (2835 m) We will walk for six hours to reach Monjo from Surke. Here we will find few villages comprising mostly of sherpa people and few others such as rai, gurung and other ethnic groups. Overnight at lodge in Monju
Day 11. Trek to Namche Bazar (3440 m)In the first hour we will cross several suspension bridges. The last one, at the confluence of the Dudh Kosi and the Bhote Kosi, is the highest. One tries not to be aware of the enormous boulders and the raging water below. Overnight at lodge in Namche Bazar
Day 12. Rest in Namche Namche is tucked away between two ridges amidst the giant peaks of the Khumbu and has an abundance of lodges, teashops and souvenir shops as well as a magnificent outlook. It is an ideal place to spend a rest day for acclimatization to the high altitude before heading towards Tyangboche. For the acclimatization we walk up to Khunde Hospital which was set-up by Sir Edmund Hillary, or a one hour walk up to the Syangboche (3800m.) where Everest View Hotel is situated above Namche for the outstanding view of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse,Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kusum Kangaru. There are also good views from the National Park Centre and Museum just above the town. Overnight at Namche Bazar. Overnight at lodge in Namche Bazar
Day 13. Trek to Tengboche (3860 m) Leave the village for a climb to the top of a ridge and level mountain path that offers an excellent views of Thamserku, Kantega, and Kusum Kangrib. To the right there is a steep cliff that drops down to the Dudh Kosi, faintly visible on the valley floor below. We make our way around a branch ridge, and Ama Dablam (6812m) Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse (7855m) and Tawetse (6501m) suddenly appear. After a gentle descent the mountain path ends; we will come to the fork leading to Gokyo. Descend past two tea houses and through the village of Trashinga. Though we cannot see it, we can hear the Dudh Kosi and soon we descent to the river and arrive at Phunki Tenga. It is a long climb to Tyangboche; the first half is especially steep. As we climb through the forested zone, the incline eases and a splendid view appears. Continue climbing the mountainside diagonally until we come to the stone gate built by lamas which marks your entry into Tyangboche (3860m). We may use the large plateau in front of the splendid monastery as your campsite. There are a lodge and hotel managed by the National Park Service. Tyangboche is an important lookout point on this course, and the sunset on Everest and Ama Dablam is especially beautiful. Overnight at lodge in Tengboche
Day 14. Trek to Dingboche (4410 m)We leave Tyangboche and the Khumbu mountains as a backdrop-and descend a rhododendron covered area to emerge to a pleasant area. Pass a long Mani stone wall to enter the village of Deboche. Go on to Minlinggo and leave the mountain path to cross over a suspension bridge to the left bank of the Imja Khola. Climb the mountain path while looking up at Ama Dablam and Kantega (6779m). Ascend the chorten-lined route, come to a fork, the upper path passes Pangboche and a monastery, take the lower path to Pangboche Olin and its stone wall-enclosed potato field. Pass through the village and cross a stream to a path skirting a rocky area to terraced hills along the riverbank. The trails climbs slowly, winding above the Imjatse River, to a big Mani Stupa. From here, the walk is fairly moderate as we enter the Imjatse Valley beneath the mighty peaks of Ama Dablam, Nuptse and Lhotse with views of the eastern snow capped mountains including the Island Peak or Imjatse (6,189m) Dingboche is a beautiful patchwork of fields enclosed by stone walls protecting the crops of barley, buckwheat and potatoes from the cold winds and grazing animals. Day 15. Acclimatization day at DingbocheWe will stop for acclimatization at Dingboche. There are some breathtaking views of the North face of Ama Dablam and the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge as we explore this beautiful valley that leads up to Island Peak. The walk is short with a good chance to relax in the afternoon. Overnight at lodge Dingboche
Day 16. Trek to Lubuche (4910 m) The onward journey leads us north for up to 50-minutes until you come to a mani-prayer Stupa. The trail is gentle looking down to Pheriche village below. This day’s walk offers views of the Mt.Tawache, Ama Dablam and to the north-Pokalde (5741m) Kongma-tse (5820m) and the great wall of Nuptse. After 1 ½ to 2 hours walk, the trail from Pheriche joins near Dugla (4595m) before a small wooden bridge over the river of Khumbu glacier. Stop at Dugla, for lunch, before continuing for an hour up a steep hill to the top, where there are views of Mt. Pumori and other peaks west of Everest. After a short break, continue (1 ½ to 2 hours) of trekking up to Lobuche, hidden and sheltered from the wind. Overnight at lodge in Lobuche
Day 17. Trek to Gorakshep (5140 m) – EBC (5364 m) & back to Gorakshep This day we trek up the valley following the rocky moraine path, view icy glacial pond and icebergs down below of Khumbu glacier. After the last rocky moraine dunes, a short downhill walk brings us to Gorakshep, the flat field below Kala Patthar (5545m) and Mt. Pumori (7145m.) Gorakshep is the location of the original Everest Base Camp with the new camp being further up the valley. Now the trail winds through rocky path and Khumbu glacier. The view of Nuptse, Lho-La and Khumbutse appears at the front of us. Sometime the avalanche can be seen on the way. After a great moment, we retrace back passing through Khumbu glacier with magnificent views of Lobuche, Cholatse, Mt. Pumori and Tabuche. Overnight at lodge in Gorakshep
Day 18. Early morning up to Kala Pathar (5550 m) & back to Dughla (4620 m) We will descend towards Dugla. After 4 hours we will reach Dugla. From here we will see beautiful mountains such as Amadablam, Twache, Hiunchuli, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pokhalde peak. Overnight at lodge in Dughla
Day 19. Trek to Deboche (3710 m) We will reach Deboche after 3 and half hours walk form Dughla. Rest of the day we will spend by exploring nearby areas. Overnight at lodge in Deboche
Day 20. Trek to Khumjung (3780 m) We will walk 6 hours to Khumjung, there are two alternative ways to reach Khumjung, which are of same lenght as compared to each other. Overnight at lodge in Khumjung
Day 21. Trek to Phakding We will walk for about five hours to reach Phakding. From here we will see beautiful views of Amadablam, Lhotse, Nuptse and other himalayan ranges of Everest region. Overnight at lodge in Phakding
Day 22. Trek to Lukla It will take 4 hours walk from Phakding to reach Lukla.
Day 23. Fly Lukla to Kathmandu
Day 24. Rest in Kathmandu
Day 25. Final departure
