Upper Dolpo trekking is remote hidden trekking destination in Nepal where Nepal’s most tranquil and natural beauty is still unexplored.. Dolpo is located inside the Shey – Phoksundo National Park of mid-western Nepal, behind the Dhaulagiri massif, towards the Tibetan Plateau. Dolpo Trek / Trekking in Dolpo region is a memoriable trekking which cannot be forgotten easily. As it is in the isolated part of Nepal, there the nature seems to have remained exactly the same as it was first created- unharmed and unaltered.It is undisturbed and preserved for centuries. Blue sheep, leopards and other interesting Himalayan animals are still there in this region.
Dolpo region trekking is the natural embodiment of high passes, rare flora and fauna, and sweeping vistas, which is enriched by the traditional Tibetan cultural heritage. To trek on Dolpo region is quite an experience of life. The view of Kanjiroba peak, Phoksumdo Lake, and the Dhauligiri massif is one of the most rewarding moments of the upper dolpa trekking. A visit to the Phoksumdo Gompa dedicated to the ancient Bonpo religion, local to Dolpo and Tibet, is a memorable experience in Himalayan kingdom of Nepal. Upper Dolpo trekking is famous for deepest Lake Phoksundo in entire Himalayan Region.
Mother Nature created a unique and wonderful treasurer like Dolpo, which is the shelter of many rare alpine living beings. Trek to Dolpo has often been called the Nepal Himalaya pilgrimage trekking and hidden valley trek created by Guru Rinpoche. Upper Dolpo trek is most suitable for those who are exceptionally fit and prepared to face the full challenge of the Himalayan wilderness and well-organized camping trekking , trekking in group is recommended and special trekking permit is required, which you can obtain through Government registered trekking company of Nepal.
TREKKING ITINERARY – UPPER DOLPO TREKKING
Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu in International Airport & transfer to hotel evening trekking tour briefing.
Day 02: Kathmandu Valley sight seen
Day 03: Kathmandu – Nepalgunj by flight, 1 hour flight overnight in Nepalgunj Hotel.
Day 04: morning flight from Nepalgunj – Jhupal 40 minutes flight and trek start about 4-hour walk to Dunai, camp in Dunai (2150m).
Day 05: Dunai – Ankhe (2660m) about 6 hours walk.
Day 06: Ankhe – Sumdo (3100m) about 5 hours walk.
Day 07: Sumdo – Ringmo Phoksindo (3728m) about 4 hours walk.
Day 08: Ringmo phokshindo rest day for acclimatization’s.
Day 09: Phoksudundo – North campo Dolpo over night.(4000m.)
Day 10: North Camp / Gandla Là (5250m.)
Day 11: Gandla Là/Shey (4750m.)
Day 12: Shey/Namgung (4950m.)
Day 13: Namgung/Saldang (4650m.)
Day 14: Saldang/Yangjir(3965m.)
Day 15: Yangtsher Gumba/Shimen (4250m.)
Day 16: Shimen / Tingkyu-Kehengchu.Rivar side camp. (4694m.)
Day 17: Kehengchu /Charkhala Phedi 4290m7 ½ hours.
Day 18: Charkhala phedi /Charkhala passes 5035m and charkha village 4050m 6 hours.
Day 19: Chharkha village /Yak Kharka 4250m about 6 hours.
Day 20:Yak Kharka /Bhery Kharka 4670m. 4 hours.
Day 21: Bhery Kharka / Thula 5400m & 6 1/2 hours / after Sangdala pass (4295m.) Sangda phedi 8 hours.
Day 22: Sangda phedi /Dangar Jung village (3560m.) About 6 1/2 hours.
Day 23: Dangar Jung / Jomsom 4 hours.
Day 24: from Jomsom to Pokhara after your breakfast around 7 O’clock in the Morning fly 25 minute to Pokhara and same day flight to Kathmandu transfer to hotel .
Day 25 .transport to airport back to destination
