Essential Information
Visa Information
Immigration Offices, under Department of Immigration have been facilitating tourists flying to Nepal by providing Visa on Arrival. 'On Arrival' visa procedure is very quick and simple. You can expect some queues during peak Tourist season. If you wish to skip those queues, you can also consider getting Visa from Nepalese Diplomatic Missions stationed abroad prior to your arrival. Choice is yours.
If you have obtained visa from Nepalese Diplomatic Missions, then you must enter Nepal within six months from the visa issued date. Your total stay is counted starting from the day you enter into Nepal.
Visas obtained on Arrival at the Entry and Exit points are 'Tourist Visas'. They bear multiple Re entry facility. Tourist Visa 'On Arrival' is the only entry visa to Nepal. If you are visiting Nepal for the purposes other than Tourism (sightseeing, tour, travel, mountaineering, trekking, visiting friends and families), you should still get ' Tourist Visa' to get into the country. However, you must change the category of visa as per your purpose and length of stay in Nepal from Department of Immigration by producing required documents.
Useful Tips:
A travel insurance policy that covers medical treatment is recommended for all tourists. Similarly, we recommend you to make sure that the insurance covers activities such as trekking, hiking, adventure activities, rafting etc. that you will be undertaking during your stay in Nepal Getting special vaccinations is not necessary when visiting Nepal. We still recommend that you consult with your physician regarding special immunizing against any tropical disease. It may be a good idea to get a complete checkup before departure. We recommend that you undertake training programs to be physically fit if you plan to go high-altitude trekking or mountaineering when you’re visiting Nepal. Please read up on altitude sickness (AMS) , diarrhea, Giardia, Dysentery, Cholera, Hepatitis, Rabies, Typhoid, Tetanus, Meningitis, Diphtheria, Malaria and HIV/ AIDS. Information and little precautions can often save lives. Always make sure that your water is clean by opting for boiled and then cooled water, treated water or sealed water from a brand. Always carry a bottle of water when trekking or venturing off away from the city/ town. Please do not swim in lakes and water bodies, especially where depth and vegetation are not known. Always carry and use mosquito repellant when in Terai region or during the summer. Please have a handy medical first aid kit ready for any situation.

Mr. Ngawang Pasang Sherpa is a highly experienced in Nepal’s trekking and mountaineering industry, with over 25 years of experience in the field. Starting his journey as a kitchen boy at a young age, Ngawang gradually rose through the ranks, working as a cook and guide before becoming the Managing Director of High Valley Treks and Expeditions. His long and dedicated career has provided him with an unparalleled wealth of knowledge and expertise, enabling him to lead the company to become one of the most reputable service providers in the country under his exemplary management.
Ngawang has been part of several high-profile expeditions, including the Annapurna I Expedition and Manaslu Expedition with a Japanese team in 1994, as well as Everest, Ama Dablam, and Choyu (from the Tibet side). He has also successfully climbed numerous high-altitude peaks across Nepal, gaining immense mountaineering experience along the way. To further enhance his skills, he participated in Alpine Training in Austria, focusing on mountain rescue, ice climbing techniques, and the preservation of natural environments in 2002, certified by authorized Austrian mountain guides.
In addition to his extensive field experience, Ngawang has traveled to Austria, Germany, Tibet, and India, broadening his international perspective. His diverse background and commitment to sustainable tourism and mountaineering continue to inspire others in the trekking and climbing community.
Ang Kaji Sherpa
Founder Member
Kaji Sherpa is a founding member and an experienced trekking, tour, and climbing guide at High Valley Treks & Expedition. Kaji’s journey in the trekking industry began in 1991, right after finishing high school, marking the start of a remarkable career in Nepal's tourism and mountaineering sector. His early years were filled with legendary expeditions, including serving as base camp staff during the 1992 Italian Everest Expedition, followed by multiple successful climbs of Ama Dablam, Karta Ri, and Choyu (from the Tibet side).
Over the years, Kaji has guided some of the most popular trekking routes and peak climbs in Nepal, showcasing his deep expertise in high-altitude trekking and mountaineering. He spent seven years working with Nepal Himal Treks as a guide, which further honed his leadership and technical skills. In 2000, Kaji completed the Trekking Guide Training certified by the Ministry of Tourism & Civil Aviation of Nepal, and in 2001-2002, he participated in Alpine Training in Austria, focusing on first aid, rock and ice climbing, and modern mountain rescue techniques. This training was conducted by authorized Austrian mountain guides, which also included lessons on the preservation of nature and the environment.
Kaji’s international experience includes travels to countries such as Austria, Germany, Tibet, India, and Afghanistan, which have enriched his global perspective on mountaineering and trekking. His passion for the mountains and dedication to providing safe and enriching experiences for trekkers make him a highly respected figure in the Nepalese tourism industry.

Pasang Kaji Sherpa (P.K.) is a highly experienced high-altitude climber and Sherpa guide, proudly serving as a key team member of High Valley Treks & Expedition. With an impressive record of over 222 successful summit ascents, Pasang Kaji has led expeditions to some of Nepal’s most renowned peaks, including Island Peak (6,000m), Lobuche Peak, Ama Dablam, Mera Peak, Dhampus Peak, and several others across the Himalayan range.
Known for his exceptional mountaineering skills and leadership at high altitude, P.K. brings years of practical experience to every expedition, ensuring safety, success, and a memorable journey for climbers. His extensive training includes Ice Climbing and Rescue Training organized by the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), as well as Trekking Guide Training certified by the Ministry of Tourism & Civil Aviation of Nepal.

Lopsang Sherpa is a licensed professional trekking and mountain guide from Bupsa, Solukhumbu, Nepal, located in the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality. Born in 2057/10/03 (Nepali Calendar), he has over six years of trekking experience, including four years as a certified guide (License No. 18768) and two years as an assistant guide. Coming from a family deeply involved in the tourism industry, Lopsang was introduced to the world of guiding early on and has developed a strong foundation in Himalayan trekking and cultural travel.
Fluent in Sherpa and Nepali, with basic communication skills in French and German, Lopsang brings both local insight and international awareness to his work. His professionalism and adaptability have allowed him to successfully lead treks for clients from around the world. He has also traveled to Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Amsterdam, Dubai, and Qatar, gaining broader cultural exposure and experience.
