Overview

Mount Mera peak 6654 meter height from sea level and it is permitted trekking peak in Nepal. Its stands to the south of Mount Everest & dominates the watershed between heavily wooded valley of the Inkhu. J.O. M. Roberts & Sen. Tenzing made the fist successfully summit of Mera peak on 20 May 1953, till to date, it is being 59 years. The route they used is still the standard and fallowing who comes for climbing Mera peak every year.

Mera peak is one of the most popular of Nepal’s 18 “Trekking Peaks”. From the trekker, the walk from Lukla through the Sherpa country of the remote Inkhu valley is an unforgettable experience, offering superb scenery, and abundant wildlife – including rumored sightings of the legendary yeti. Mera peak climbing is easy trekking peak in Nepal. You can do ski descending from the near TOP. From Top of Mera peak can see Mount Everest 8848m. Mount Makalu 8464m. Mount Kanchenjunga 8586m. Mount Lhotse 8516meters as well as many tiny mountains. When reach the TOP of mount Mera peak and climber feels reached a haven.
About 700 to 1000 Nepali guides and mountaineers climb the 6654m. Mera peak each year, an achievement which requires mountaineering skills and permit from the Nepal Mountaineering Association

Essential Information

Visa Information

Immigration Offices, under Department of Immigration have been facilitating tourists flying to Nepal by providing Visa on Arrival. 'On Arrival' visa procedure is very quick and simple. You can expect some queues during peak Tourist season. If you wish to skip those queues, you can also consider getting Visa from Nepalese Diplomatic Missions stationed abroad prior to your arrival. Choice is yours.

 If you have obtained visa from Nepalese Diplomatic Missions, then you must enter Nepal within six months from the visa issued date. Your total stay is counted starting from the day you enter into Nepal.

Visas obtained on Arrival at the Entry and Exit points are 'Tourist Visas'.  They bear multiple Re entry facility. Tourist Visa 'On Arrival' is the only entry visa to Nepal. If you are visiting Nepal for the purposes other than Tourism (sightseeing, tour, travel, mountaineering, trekking, visiting friends and families), you should still get ' Tourist Visa' to get into the country.  However, you must change the category of visa as per your purpose and length of stay in Nepal from Department of Immigration by producing required documents.

Useful Tips:

A travel insurance policy that covers medical treatment is recommended for all tourists.
Similarly, we recommend you to make sure that the insurance covers activities such as trekking, hiking, adventure activities, rafting etc. that you will be undertaking during your stay in Nepal
Getting special vaccinations is not necessary when visiting Nepal.
We still recommend that you consult with your physician regarding special immunizing against any tropical disease.
It may be a good idea to get a complete checkup before departure.
We recommend that you undertake training programs to be physically fit if you plan to go high-altitude trekking or mountaineering when you’re visiting Nepal.
Please read up on altitude sickness (AMS) , diarrhea, Giardia, Dysentery, Cholera, Hepatitis, Rabies, Typhoid, Tetanus, Meningitis, Diphtheria, Malaria and HIV/ AIDS. Information and little precautions can often save lives.
Always make sure that your water is clean by opting for boiled and then cooled water, treated water or sealed water from a brand.
Always carry a bottle of water when trekking or venturing off away from the city/ town.
Please do not swim in lakes and water bodies, especially where depth and vegetation are not known.
Always carry and use mosquito repellant when in Terai region or during the summer.
Please have a handy medical first aid kit ready for any situation.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu  
  • Our high valley treks staff will pick up from Tribhuvan International Airport and transferred to the hotel and preparation and information about Mera peak, overnight at Hotel Kathmandu
  • Day 2:  Full Day Guided Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu Valley by private van.
    we will go on a sightseeing tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu Valley with our German or English speaking tour Guide and our staff . We will visit the Bhaktapur Patan, Pashupatinath temple and Boudhanath stupa after the sightseen our company will organize a welcome dinner at Nepali restaurant with culture dance show overnight at Hotel
  • Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla 2840m,
    An early morning start for the dramatic flight through the mountains to Lukla. We spend the remainder of the day resting and acclimatizing.prepare for all what we need for this trip Stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 4: Trek from Lukla to Chutanga 3050m,
    A short and easy day of trekking, off the beaten track, up through thinning forest to the grazing area of Chutanga. Stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 5: Acclimatization day.
    We make a trek up to around 4000 meters, giving views over the Dudh Koshi valley and across to the Atwra La pass. We return to Chutanga. Stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 6: Trek from Chutanga to Tuli Kharka 4320m,
    A long day, mostly uphill to cross the Zatrwa La (4600m) and descend to Tuli Kharka a high pasture above the Hinku valley. Stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 7: Trek from Tuli Kharka to Gotay 3600m,
    We follow a delightful descending trail across three ridges, before dropping steeply down to the Hinku valley and a final uphill to Gotay. Stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 8: Trek from Gotay to Tangnag 4350m,
    Following the west side of the Hinku, we trek via the ‘Yak herders’ summer settlement of Gondishung and its Buddhist shrine to Tagnag. Stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 9: Acclimatisation Day.
    In the morning we trek up above camp for views of the Mera La. In the afternoon we have a skills training session ready for the ascent. Stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 10: Trek from Tangnag to Khare 5000m,
    We ascend an ablation valley beside the Dig Glacier to Khare, the base camp area for Mera. Stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 11: A day for further acclimatization.
    We follow the ridge above camp to around 5500 meters and return to Khare. Stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 12: Trek from Khare to Hongu Valley 5415m,
    Leaving our base camp we trek up onto the glacier and traverse to the Mera La on the watershed of the Hinku and Hongu valleys. Stay overnight at tented camp.
  • Day 13: Trek from Hongu Valley to High Camp 5800m,
    We continue our ascent of the North flank of Mera to a spectacular Eyrir nestled below a rocky outcropping on the ridge. Stay overnight at tented camp.
  • Day 14: Summit to Mera Peak 6476m and back to Khare 5000m,
    We make the technically straightforward ascent of Mera (6476m). The summit view includes 5 of the World’s 6 highest mountains. We return to Khare. Stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 15: Free day for climbing,
    A contingency day in case of bad weather or delay. We may use this day to split the following day’s trekking into two shorter days, descending first to Tagnag. Stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 16: Trek from Hinku Valley to Gotay 3600m,
    We begin our return trek following the Hinku valley to Gotay. Stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 17: Trek from Gotay to Tuli Kharka 4320m,
    Uphill again to reach Tuli Kharka below the Zatwra La. Stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 18: Trek from Tuli Kharka to Lukla 2840m,
    A final short climb to the Zatrwa La and then a long descent to Lukla. Stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 19: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel,
    Taking a morning flight to Kathmandu, we will have plenty of time after lunch for further sightseeing or shopping. Stay overnight night at Hotel.
  • Day 20: Final Departure to International Airport, our High valley staff will be pick up from Hotel and drop to Airport,
